Mirage Visual Effects is looking for talented people to work in our fantastic new Sydney studio in Balmain.


Senior Producer
    We have a position available for a Senior Producer.  The successful applicant will possess exceptional marketing and production management abilities, will complement our existing crew and will manage an incredible team of artists alongside our CG supervisors and management.  A competitive package with the possibility of a future equity allocation is on offer for the right candidate.


    We also seek expressions of interest from senior level artists in all disciplines of 3D and compositing for immediate and upcoming projects. Even if you are not currently available, we would like to hear from you for future projects.


    We are also on the lookout for Interns who are looking for practical experience working on exciting and challenging new projects. You will gain knowledge across all aspects of Visual Effects, develop a ‘hands on’ approach to problem solving, and start to fulfil your creative aspirations.

Senior Producer:
  • A solid and proven track record in developing new business and relationships with at least 5 years in TVC and Long Form production.
  • Highly ambitious with a genuine love of film making.
  • A thorough understanding of VFX pipelines.
  • Able to create accurate schedules and breakdowns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • The ability to delegate tasks to artists and manage technical crews Able to manage and track revenue and cost of projects from concept to completion.
  • Able to contribute to financial forecasting and strategic planning.

Note that this role will involve travel domestically and abroad.


All Digital Artists:
  • At least 5 years or more Film/Television or Television commercial experience.
  • Able to:
  • Work fast and efficiently to tight deadlines.
  • Understand and interpret client and supervisor notes.
  • Work well independently and within a team environment.
  • Must have:
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A diverse skill set with a desire to expand your abilities.
  • The ability to solve technical issues.



  • Fully proficient within a Maya software pipeline
  • Able to create compelling character performances, vehicle and environmental animations
  • Able to utilise key framed and motion capture techniques



  • Fully proficient within a Maya software pipeline.
  • Highly proficient in character body and facial rigging/skinning.
  • Strong knowledge of character kinematics, deformations and topology, including muscle systems.
  • Proficient in Python or other programming languages.



Concept Artists:
  • Able to interpret client ideas into a cinematic visual masterpiece.
  • Exceptional drawing skills of both characters and environments.
  • Storyboard and matte painting experience would be an advantage.



Matte Painters:
  • Fully proficient within Maya and Photoshop software pipelines.
  • Highly experienced with set extensions (realistic and stylized).



Texture and Shading Artists:
  • Fully proficient within Maya, Zbrush/Mudbox software pipelines.
  • Proficient in photoreal texturing and shading
  • Knowledge in Arnold or Renderman a plus.



  • Fully proficient within Maya, Zbrush/Mudbox software pipelines.
  • Expert knowledge in character, hard surface and environment modeling.
  • Realistic and stylized.
  • Understanding of optimised geometry for various renderers.



  • Fully proficient using Nuke or Fusion, particularly DeepData image compositing.
  • Strong understanding of 3D and CG integration within a 2D workflow.
  • Have an eye for colour, lighting, composition and attention to detail.
  • Highly skilled in tracking, matte extraction, rotoscoping, colour correction and paint fixes.
  • Experience in stereoscopic and VR an advantage.
  • Lighting and rendering skills in a Maya and Arnold/Renderman pipeline is highly desirable.
  • Scripting an advantage.



  • Fully proficient within Maya, Arnold/Renderman software pipelines.
  • Extensive Lighting/Rendering knowledge of 3D to live action and full 3D workflows.
  • Compositing experience using Nuke or Fusion.
  • Scripting an advantage.



FX Artists:
  • Fully proficient within Maya, FumeFX, Realflow and/or Houdini pipelines.
  • Expert knowledge creating fluid and particle dynamics. Liquids and explosions.
  • Scripting knowledge essential.



Fur/Hair Artist:
  • Fully proficient within Maya and Yeti pipelines.
  • Shader knowledge and Arnold Rendering is desirable.
